New Horizons
I’ve been trying to work out a way of being able to make real, ephemeral leaf art available for sale to collectors and put together in a way that could be exhibited indoors.

The struggle has been real and has gone on for years but I think I have finally cracked it!
This work is a real ephemeral nature art leaf sculpture, made with two phenotypes of laurel leaves (one a really unusual type that I have only seen in one place) stitched together with two types of thorns: prickly pear cactus in the middle and berberis around the edge. The inner ones glow red when backlit.

Much of my style of real nature art with leaves is backlit by the sun. This is one of many factors that I have been seeking a solution to bring to collectable objects and indoor exhibiting.
This is backlit with an LED rechargeable ceiling light with the various pictures showing it in daylight, or illuminated with white, warm/white or just warm light and in a dark or day time room.

This object can be hung as wall art, placed on top of a surface and in several configurations as you can see. It is 35” or 89cm square. The leavs are placed between two sheets of plexi-glass so they can be seen from both sides.
I will be making this and other new artworks for sale soon.
I hope you like what you see.

Do you think hanging a work like this in front of a window so the illumination would be natural light would work?
